"A Day at the Beach."
This piece was inspired by the artists memories of his childhood on the Jersey shore in Long Beach Island.
Experimenting with spray paint and mixed media, Alex chose these colors to be a brighter then realism in order to communicate the idea of a memory. The rosy smiling cheeks help to recall the memory of how he felt at the end of a day spent at the beach. When your whole self is warm from the time in the sun spent with your extended family, and where your evening means showering the salt out of your hair before dinner and ice cream with your aunts, uncles and cousins.
